RICHMOND — A plan to expand a heavily used commuter lot in Richmond has been shelved — at least for now.
The lot just off Interstate 89 in eastern Chittenden County gets heavy use — all of its current 105 spaces as well as strips of turf around them are full of cars most weekdays.
There had been a plan to expand the facility by adding 60 spaces in a lot across the road. It was hoped the new lot would be open by this past summer.
But that plan has hit a snag amid worries about pedestrians crossing the road.
