'Sweet 16?'

NORTHFIELD – While we're on the subject of food drives, here's a shout-out to the 16 cadets from Norwich University who must have smelled anything but sweet after cranking out thousands of push-ups in exchange for canned goods at the Walmart entrance of the Berlin Mall and nearby Shaw's supermarket.
Under the leadership of William Chin, the Cadets' annual "Push-Ups for Food" campaign set a record earlier this month. The Cadets collected 1,384 pounds of food for the Vermont Foodbank – up 700 pounds from last year, bringing the two-year total to 2,074 pound of food.
We're told that's enough food for 1,600 meals for Vermonters in need.
