A vehicle crossing the center line on Route 105 resulted in a fatal car accident on Friday.
Konrad Gray, 46, of Island Pond died in the accident that occurred about 4 p.m. in Charleston. Gray was driving a Chevy truck. Police believe his vehicle crossed the center line, colliding head-on with a Ford Explorer, driven by James (Tim) Mills.
Gray was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. He was transported to the hospital in Newport and declared dead.
Mills, 66, of Irasburg, was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. He, too, was transported to the hospital where it was determined his injuries were not life threatening.
Gray's vehicle sustained extensive front-end damage, as did Mill's Explorer. The road conditions were dry and clear at the time of the accident, according to police.
