RANDOLPH - Coralyn Wood Osha, 97, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, at Gifford Medical Center in Randolph.
She was born Jan. 23, 1911, in Orange, the daughter of Walter I. and Annie (MacDonald) Wood.
She attended Randolph schools and graduated from Randolph High School. She continued her education graduating from Lyndon Normal School. She was a school teacher in Hartford and Montpelier before her marriage to Seward "Buster" Osha Aug. 25, 1937, in Randolph. She resumed teaching in Brookfield, E. Brookfield and Randolph until her retirement. They owned and operated a farm in Randolph Center for a time before moving to their farm in East Brookfield. She was active in the East Brookfield Congregational Church. Her memberships included Bethany United Church of Christ, past matron of the Crescent Chapter O.E.S., past regent of the Colonel Israel Converse Chapter D.A.R., past, Randolph Historical Society and the 251-plus club. She did volunteer work at Tranquility Nursing Home and at Gifford Medical Center. She enjoyed reading, sewing, flower gardening and genealogy.
She is survived by three sons; William Osha of Mattapoisett, Mass., John Osha and Stuart Osha both of Randolph Center, a brother Austin Wood of Barre, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Seward Osha in 1994; five brothers, Leyland, Stanley, Ivan, Lyndell and Hazen Wood, and her sister Doris Bell.
Graveside services will be held Friday, Sept. 5 at 12:30 p.m., at the Pleasant View Cemetery, Randolph. There are no calling hours.
