BURLINGTON — Bethany E. FitzGerald, 42, of Burlington, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at Fletcher Allen Health Care.
She was born in Montpelier, Vt., on Jan. 23, 1966, the daughter of Gordon and Janet (Barrett) Perkins. She graduated from Harwood Union High School Class of 1984. On July 10, 1993 she was married to Joel FitzGerald at the Round Church in Richmond. She was employed with the State of Vermont for 22 years as a Data Technician.
Beth was a loving wife, daughter, mother and generous friend to so many. She loved camping, travel, the Maine coast, sunshine and water, and had a lifelong passion for animals.
She is survived by her husband Joel FitzGerald of Vermont; four children, Daniel Joel FitzGerald of Connecticut, Ashley Amanda FitzGerald of Virginia, Jamie Evelyn FitzGerald and Hannah Rose FitzGerald, both of Vermont; a granddaughter Peyton Ann FitzGerald; her parents Gordon and Janet Perkins; mother and father-in-law John and Marion FitzGerald; her in-laws John, Kathy, Matthew, Mark, David, Nathan, and James FitzGerald all of Vermont. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She also leaves her special friends Charlie and Clover.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 14, 2008 at 10 a.m. in Christ the King Church. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 12 to 3 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Ready Funeral & Cremation Service South Chapel, 261 Shelburne Rd., Burlington.
