Peak Organic Brewing, producers of gourmet, certified organic ales of Morrisville, is collaborating with Butternut Mountain Farms, producers of local, organic maple syrup, also in Morrisville, to brew a Maple Oat Ale.
"Our Maple Oat Ale is a celebration of local farming and organic agriculture," said Jon Cadoux, Peak Brewing founder and craft beer brewer.
The Maple Oat Ale is a copper-colored ale with a soft, dynamic mouth feel from the organic oats and a subtle hint of sweetness in the finish from the organic maple syrup.
"This ale has impressed tasting panels and we are proud of the final product," said Cadoux.
"We've collaborated with great folks to produce more than just a delicious craft beer, but also a positive experience from start to finish, farm to glass," said Geoff Masland, Peak Organic partnership maestro.
The Maple Oat Ale is brewed with Vermont-produced organic maple syrup from Butternut Mountain Farms in Morrisville and organic oats from granola company GrandyOats in Maine (www.grandyoats.com).
"Healthy local economies is an important goal for us," said Butternut Mountain Farm owner David Martin. "That is why we have supported so many quality maple producers in the area and partnered with groups like the Vermont Fresh Network. We are proud to have our local, organic syrup being showcased in this delicious brew."
