State police troopers inspect the scene Wednesday where a southbound oversize load truck, exiting Interstate 89 at Exit 8, became wedged underneath Bridge 41, the southbound overpass, shortly after 6 p.m.. Police quickly closed the southbound exit, and VTrans officials arrived to inspect the bridge for safety. The tractor trailer was accompanied by an escort vehicle. Police said the truck was carrying an empty metal tank from Glenns Falls, N.Y. on its way to Bangor, Me.. Police are investigating the incident. The truck was freed at about 9 p.m. Wednesday, allowing the ramp to reopen shortly thereafter.
