BARRE – Robert Ego Parnigoni of Roslindale, Mass., passed away peacefully Nov. 26, 2007, following a brief illness.

Robert was born on Dec. 15, 1961, in Barre. He attended St. Monica School and graduated from Spaulding High School. He moved to Boston in September of 1980 and made his home there until his death. He graduated from Boston University, majoring in broadcasting and film from the College of Communication. He continued his education, receiving his master's of education in instructional design from the University of Massachusetts.

Robert worked at MIT for over 16 years in the video-satellite communications department. In recent years, he had done independent instructional design for private business and learning organizations. His last project was an art restoration assignment for the Museum of Fine Arts in Milwaukee, Wis.

Robert's great passion was painting of all types, including art provera. He had recently found success selling his art work.

Rob had a black belt in Tai Kwan Do, played men's softball, scuba dived, loved the piano and read constantly.

He is survived by his parents, Richard and Joan (Starr) Parnigoni of Barre; his sister and brother-in-law, Starr and Kevin LeCompte of Montpelier; his sister and brother-in-law, Erin and Mario Lopez-Gomez of Fairfax, Va.; and his brother, Richard Parnigoni Jr. of Woburn, Mass.

He was a thoughtful uncle to Pilar, Austin, Oliver and Carter Lopez-Gomez; Megan and Amanda Starr; Jillian Parnigoni and Logan and Sawyer LeCompte.

He will be missed by his uncles and aunts, cousins and all the wonderful friends he made during his life.

A Mass in memory of Rob will be held at Holy Name Catholic Church in West Roxbury, Mass., on Dec. 1, 2007. As he wished, Robert will be buried with his family in Hope Cemetery sometime next year. A Mass at Saint Monica Church will be held at that time.
