Poll shows Sanders with lead over TarrantOctober 26,2006
MONTPELIER (AP) — Rep. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., has a comfortable lead over Republican businessman Rich Tarrant in the race for the U.S. Senate, according to a poll released Wednesday.
Sanders would get 57 percent of the vote compared to 36 percent for Tarrant, according to the poll conducted for WCAX-TV. Six percent of respondents said they were undecided.
The telephone poll, conducted by Research 2000 of Rockville, Md., surveyed 400 randomly chosen voters on Monday and Tuesday.
The results differed slightly from September when a similar poll found that Sanders would get 58 percent of the votes and Tarrant would get 33 percent, with nine percent of voters undecided.
The poll had a potential margin of error of plus or minus 5 percentage points.
