WEST CHARLESTON – Vermont State Police announced Friday they are seeking a 17-year-old girl who allegedly left home July 4.
Tabethia Smith-Bryce was reported missing Thursday by her mother, Laura Greenwood, of 76 Fontaine Road, who told police her daughter "had been missing since July 4 when she was supposed to have gone swimming with friends." Greenwood lives in West Charleston in Orleans County.
Her mother, Laura Greenwood, said Smith-Bryce called home around 11:30 on Friday morning and claimed to be in Morrisville traveling alone by foot, and that she would return home. But as of Friday around 6:30 p.m. the youth had not yet returned.
"She called, but she hasn't come back and I don't think she is going to," Greenwood said. "I am really very concerned and upset and depressed. I haven't slept at all."
Greenwood said Smith-Bryce ran away about a year ago, but was quickly located in South Burlington.
Police reported Smith-Bryce could be with Randy Blake, 41, also from the Charleston area. She may be traveling in a green 1999 Mercury Cougar with a Vermont registration of EEH697, according to police.
Smith-Bryce was last seen wearing blue jeans, brown clogs and a two-piece blue top worn under a white tank top, police said. She also has a diamond stud nose ring on her left nostril. Standing 5-foot, 3-inches tall and weighing 130 pounds, Smith-Bryce had shoulder length light brown hair with blonde streaks.
