The Barre Partnership's Firehouse Community Forum held on March 16 was one of the better forums I've attended, so I was disappointed that there wasn't any mention of the Greater Barre Community Justice Center in your article. There is no question that the wonderful Barre residents in attendance and the Barre Partnership made this forum a successful event, but the GBCJC played a significant role in pulling it all together and they deserve to be recognized for their contribution. The GBCJC offers a variety of community services that are based on restorative practices, including mediation services, community forums, reparative boards and more. The facilitation skills of GBCJC director Lori Baker and local mediator Judy Cyprian, as well as the many small group moderators who volunteered their time for this event, made it possible for over 100 people to come together and have their voices heard.
